- Neglect / Safeguarding whilst IN school and ATTENDING!
I wonder if we could perhaps collate some testimonies from parents, children/young people, and staff (ex or current), that have experienced or witnessed neglect and ignored safeguarding concerns whilst actually IN school ATTENDING?!
I know myself (on both personal and professional levels), that this happens far more than people may realise! This includes all “forms” of neglect and safeguarding issues, and that may have been raised repeatedly but not been dealt with due to whatever reason.
We could give students the chance to speak of this topic whilst IN school attending by writing, speaking, drawing, music, with support…any way that they could take part.
We could have parents speak from their POV, and professionals too if they’ve witnessed.
All could be anonymised of course!
We hear some gathering data and testimonies from SEND students let down, how about specifically those actually experiencing this IN the school setting alone? Could also be used to argue about ‘school is the safest and best place to be!’
